Cosmetic treatment and smile designing

Smile designing is a procedure that elegantly creates a straight, white and natural looking smile that looks beautiful. The procedure can fully restore the health and appearance of your teeth regardless of their original state.

Dental veneers and laminates are cosmetic dental treatments to enhance the beauty and appearance of teeth. Dental veneers are thin tooth-colored shells that are placed on the surface of teeth. The procedure is minimally invasive and only requires small amount of enamel to be removed. Dental laminates uses advance material that is much thinner than veneers and requires less amount of enamel to be removed. Its thickness is similar to that of contact lenses.

There are treatments available which do not require braces to close the gaps. Some of them are:

  1. Composite Bonding: Composite bonding is used to close small gaps between teeth using tooth-coloured material. It is a relatively easy, long-lasting, and noninvasive procedure that yields excellent results when performed properly.
  2. Veeners: Veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that have been shaped in a lab to match the shape and colour of your teeth. It covers up any deformities or gaps in your teeth by placing and bonding over the front of your teeth.
  3. Invisalign: Invisalign are invisible aligners that adjust your teeth and shape dental arches. In contrast to fixed braces, dental aligners are made from durable and flexible plastic. They can be removed and cleaned, resulting in a healthier smile.

A tooth can be fractured due to various reasons such as biting hard foods, related to age, habits like chewing gum and ice, grinding teeth, or any trauma. To repair fractured tooth, some of the treatments include:

  • Bonding: To repair fracture, plastic resin is used to fill it.
  • Cosmetic Contouring: Rough edges are rounded and polished to smooth out broken teeth.
  • Crown: The fractured tooth is covered with a porcelain or ceramic cap. It is used when there are not enough natural teeth left for a veneer.
  • Veener: Generally, porcelain or plastic is used to cover the front of the tooth. It is used when there is enough of your natural teeth are left.
  • Root Canal: The pulp of a damaged tooth is removed to prevent further tooth deterioration by using root canal.

Invisible braces are aligners made of a transparent material that are used to straighten teeth like braces. A gentle force is applied to move the teeth in the correct position without the hassle of metal wires and brackets. These are custom-made mouthpieces that fit tightly around the teeth.

Individual jewels are placed on the outer surface of a tooth as a form of tooth jewellery. Two types of jewels are placed on tooth –

  • Twinkles: Jewellery made of yellow and white gold, including diamonds and other gems.
  • Dental Gems: the tooth has a range of glass crystals.

Tooth whitening is the process of removing stains from the surface of the tooth and restores the natural color. Dental bleaching is the process of whitening teeth that goes beyond the natural color.
